At the end of November SeaMoreEco arranged a meeting in Umeå for the project partners to discuss methods and share knowledge about remote sensing analysis and eradication of the invasive species of waterweeds (Elodea canadensis and Elodea nuttallii). The County Administrative Board of Västerbotten hosted the meeting. Project staff from the ELY centers and the County Administrative Board of Norrbotten participated on site, while the other project partners participated online. A number of external participants from the Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management, Finnish Environment Institute (SYKE) and Deep Vision were invited to the meeting to share their experiences.

Day one was about remote sensing and the focus was on sharing practical experience regarding analyzes of drone images. Everyone had a go at creating and evaluating a comprehensive biotope map from a drone image. Day two was about the invasive species of waterweed. The day began with short presentations about what has been done so far in various projects and how waterweed has been fought in the past. In the afternoon, possible future methods were discussed for the locations where the project partners are planning restoration actions during next year.
